Route:
From the rustic Flatschhöfe farms (1,805m the highest), we’ll hike on a light incline through the idyllic forest on the way to the Kaserfeldalm (1,944m). As we pass by the snow-topped larch and spruce trees, we’ll be able to listen in and experience the winter countryside’s harmonious melody. Under clear, blue skies, we continue over the snowy fields of the ‘Kaser Feld’, repeatedly turning towards the sun and enjoying the unique views. After a 2½-hour climb, we reach the Schusterhütte (2,310m) a small, romantic, Alpine hut. Nobody will want to leave – ‘the mountains are where people top up on their energy’. The journey back leads over the Burgstall path to Kuhhüttl (2,160m) and back to the Flatschhöfe farms.
